PBA: Elite get elusive 7th win, will play for 2x-to-beat
Blackwater finally got that elusive seventh win and with a 7-3 record, the Elite forced a tie with idle Alaska and Phoenix for third place in the standings.

BINAN, Laguna --- Blackwater will play for a twice-to-beat advantage in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.

The Elite bounce back big time Sunday at the Alonte Sports Arena here, smashing the hapless Columbian Dyip, 120-99.

Blackwater finally got that elusive seventh win and with a 7-3 record, the Elite forced a tie with idle Alaska and Phoenix for third place in the standings.

The win also sets up Blackwater's regular-season finale against the Fuel Masters next week and the winner will get a playoff bonus come the quarterfinals.

Led by import Henry Walker, the Elite were off to the races right from the opening tip. An early 8-0 run set the tone in favor of Blackwater and they never looked back.

With the offense firing on all cylinders, Blackwater ended up leading by as many as 31 points in the second half, 79-48, and was on cruise control until the final buzzer.

Walker led the Elite in scoring with 26 points on a perfect 9-of-9 shooting from the field. Mac Belo added 16 off the bench while Paul Zamar and Allein Maliksi were good for 13 points each.

The Dyip got 28 points from import Akeem Wright. Columbian wrapped up its season with a 1-10 record in the Governors' Cup.
