PBA: Aces need to turn it up for playoffs says Manuel

Save for a tough stretch towards the end of the elimination round, the Alaska Aces have played close to perfect in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.

Alaska has earned the no. 3 seed and will enter the quarterfinals with a twice-to-beat edge, but that playoff bonus could quickly evaporate if the Aces play like the way they closed the regular season.

Manuel was referring to Alaska's win over Northport to close the elimination round and clinch a twice-to-beat advantage.

The Aces barely beat the Batang Pier and it's the second "ugly win" for the team right after Alaska also barely escaped Columbian a couple of weeks back.

"Kailangan mas maging maganda yung execution namin, mabalik namin yung dating Alaska na teamwork," he added.

The Aces definitely need to turn things around come playoff time as Alaska drew the red-hot San Miguel Beermen in the first round.

If you've been paying attention at all in the PBA for the last couple of years, you'd know that Alaska has very little success against the Beermen in the postseason.
