Meralco finally gets a break from do-or-die games.

The Bolts start the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup semifinals Sunday against the Alaska Aces. Game 1 of the best-of-5 series will tip off at 6:30 p.m. live from the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Down to 1-6 after six straight losses, Meralco won six straight knockout games, including two against Phoenix in the quarterfinals, to make the Governors' Cup semis for the third straight season.

Waiting in the next round are the Aces, who scored an impressive win in the quarters as well, sending San Miguel packing.

Finishing as the no. 3 seed with an 8-3 record, it's the second straight semis appearance this season for Alaska after a run for the title in the Commissioner's Cup.
