PBA: Allen Durham will keep chasing that elusive title
"That's my plan, I'm still trying to get a ring so I'm gonna keep working until I can't run or jump no more." --- Allen Durham.

Allen Durham's quest for a PBA title, or a championship in general, continues.

Durham, Meralco's reigning two-time Best Import in the PBA Governors' Cup, remains ringless in his career after the Bolts finally ran out of power Saturday, losing to the Alaska Aces in the semifinals, 1-3.

It was a valiant effort for Durham in his third tour of duty for Meralco, leading the Bolts to six straight wins in do-or-die games to turn a 1-6 elimination round record into a semifinal finish.

But same with his first two years with the Bolts, Durham ends his season with no championships. Worse, he didn't even make the Finals this time around and he might lose his Best Import award as well.

Still Durham will continue with his grind, with the PBA title as one of his main priorities.

"That's my plan, I'm still trying to get a ring so I'm gonna keep working until I can't run or jump no more. We'll see what happens," he said after his 2018 elimination.

"This year there was (sic) a lot of great imports. That was never my really focus to get Best Import. I was just trying to get to the Finals and win the Finals. Neither one happened so I gotta wait for next season and start it all over again," he added.

In three seasons with the Bolts, Durham has played exclusively in the Governors' Cup.

But some of his rivals in the conference have also played in the Commissioner's Cup, acting as true resident imports for their respective teams.

Depending on how his talks with the Bolts go, Durham is open to the idea of doing a double duty and suiting up in the Commissioner's Cup as well.

"I think that would help our chemistry, just rolling over the Governors' Cup [from the Commissioner's Cup]," Durham said.

"But the Commissiner's Cup has bigger imports and stuff and we're not the biggest team out there so I don't know how that would work out and how they feel about that. But I wouldn't be opposed to it," he added.
