PBA: Romeo Travis should be ready for Game 1 of Finals
Despite dealing with hamstring issues, Travis dropped a career-high 50 points in a Hotshots win over Ginebra in Game 4 of the Governors' Cup Finals.

Magnolia is rolling to the PBA Finals, but one cause for concern for the Hotshots heading their Governors' Cup clash against Alaska will be the health of their key players.

Import Romeo Travis and star guard Paul Lee are both nursing minor injuries with Travis dealing with hamstring issues and Lee having a bum knee.

Still, the two-week break in between the semifinals and the Finals to give way for Gilas Pilipinas in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers is a welcome development for Magnolia as it lets its top weapons heal.

"Right now they are getting better, especially Paul. Si Romeo naman, continuous yung therapy niya para sa tuloy-tuloy ang pag-heal ng injury niya. Malaking bagay yung break na ito, hindi lang for Romeo and Paul, also for other players na medyo maraming nararamdaman din," Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero said.

"Si Ian [Sangalang] may mga kaunting bruises din na nararamdaman. Malaking bagay yun sa amin [two-week break]," he added.

Despite dealing with hamstring issues, Travis dropped a career-high 50 points in a Hotshots win over Ginebra in Game 4 of the Governors' Cup Finals.

While it didn't look like it bothered him then, a compromised hamstring would have been a problem from Travis if the Finals started two days after the semifinals instead of two weeks.

"Barring a setback, I don't see why I won't be able to play," Travis said of the upcoming Finals.

"Every day, I'm feeling a little better. I haven't run since the game [Game 4], but when I'm walking I'm walking less with a limp. I feel less pain. So barring a setback, I don't see why I wouldn't play," he added.
