PBA: 2-0 lead for Magnolia after surviving defensive struggle

The Hotshots took a commanding 2-0 lead in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup after a tough 77-71 win in Game 2 Friday at the Big Dome.
Trailing all game long, the Hotshots found just enough offense late in the fourth to somehow pull this one through.
Magnolia's largest margin of the night was six points and it the Hotshots got it on the game's last play.
"We expected a dogfight today," head coach Chito Victolero said.
"In the first half, parang di kami makasabay sa kanila, we were a step late. Fourth quarter, yung defense namin nag-start and dahil dun naka-run kami.
The Hotshots held Alaska scoreless for the game's final five minutes, setting up an grinding finish.
Jio Jalalon proved to be the spark for Magnolia this time, scoring five straight to turn a 70-71 deficit into a 75-71 lead.
Magnolia's defense then came through, forcing multiple stops before a final Rafi Reavis dunk sealed the game's final tally.
Import Romeo Travis led Magnolia with 24 points while Ian Sangalang added 11 for the Hotshots.
Paul Lee and Jalalon scored eight and seven points respectively for the Hotshots.
Mike Harris was the high man for the Aces with 22 points while Vic Manuel was good for 10.
Game 3 is set for Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
