"Hindi kami pwede mag-celebrate, hindi kami pwede magsaya. This is a best-of-seven series and ang hinihintay natin dito ay kung sinong unang maka-four na panalo and it's not yet over. And I think alam ng mga players ko yun. One game at a time. We're looking forward for Game 3," --- Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero.
After a tough 77-71 win over Alaska in Game 2 of the Finals, the Magnolia Hotshots are halfway to the promise land.
Up 2-0 in the best-of-7, Magnolia needs to more wins to win the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.
Still, while the prospect of winning a championship can get anyone excited, it's important for the Hotshots to stay grounded now more than ever.
After all, it takes four to win and they only have two.
"Katulad noong sinabi ko noong last game namin, we prepare in this series one game at a time and we don't think that we're up or we're down," head coach Chito Victolero said.
"Basta we stay on the present. We want to prepare for Game 3 and yun ang pinakaimportante sa lahat, yung game na yun," he added.
With such a stressful situation, dealing with the Finals and all the adjustments that come with it, Victolero wants his team to keep its mindset moving forward.
And as the series gets tougher, the Hotshots can't let the momentary highs and lows of one game consume their team. They can celebrate --- or deal with a crushing loss --- after the series is actually over.
"We don't think na we're up or we don't think na we're down, ang importate yung mindset namin tama. We are on the same page. Nasa same page kami lahat doon," Victolero said.
We're looking forward for Game 3," he added.
