Projected top pick CJ Perez admitted that he has not yet experienced proper sleep since the birth of his daughter last Monday.
The NCAA Season 93 MVP was blessed with the birth of his first offspring, Ciana Tanisha, and an opportunity to showcase his skills in the two-day PBA Draft Combine at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.
"Di pa ako nakakatulog ng maayos. Kailangan [pumunta dito] eh," the 6'1" guard said.
Even though the 25-year old has not yet had decent rest, he did give a glimpse of what lies ahead in his PBA career in the first day of action.
He was like the player that dominated the NCAA for the past two seasons, and with added inspiration coming from the newest member of the Perez clan, he is very ready for Sunday's PBA Rookie Draft at Robinson's Place Manila.
With the pressure mounting on the upcoming top overall pick, the former Pirate knows it would be unwise to not step up and disappoint others, a realization of a dream come true for the Pangasinan native.
