PBA: No suspension but Barroca fined P50k for Banchero hit
Magnolia's Mark Barroca escaped a one-game ban but instead will be fined P50,000 for his hit on Alaska's Chris Banchero Wednesday night.

No suspensions for Game 5 of the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup Finals.

Magnolia's Mark Barroca escaped a one-game ban but instead will be fined P50,000 for his hit on Alaska's Chris Banchero Wednesday night.

In the fourth quarter of the Aces' Game 4 win, Banchero went down in pain following a hit from Barroca.

TV replays showed that Barroca landed a closed fist on Banchero's nether regions. No foul was called on the play.

Thursday, the PBA Commissioner's office handed out the hefty fine on the Magnolia point guard.

Also fined by the league is Alaska head coach Alex Compton.

Compton received an undisclosed fine for issuing statements detrimental to the league.

Compton was irate post-game, saying that the PBA needs to do something about the dirty plays that transpired in Game 4.

Game 5 is set Friday with Alaska and Magnolia tied at two games each.
