PBA: Finals MVP Barroca says Hotshots still chase SMB, BGSM
Pasalamat kami doon. So far, rest muna. Stay hungry and stay humble.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal --- Mark Barroca helped set the tone for Magnolia and after the Hotshots beat the Alaska Aces for the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup, the veteran guard was rewarded.

Following Magnolia's Game 6 win for the title Wednesday at the Ynares Center here, Barroca was aptly named Finals MVP, his second for his rather successful PBA career.

Barroca posted an average of 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.8 steals and was easily the most consistent Hotshots particularly on the defensive end.

Also, Barroca's down time in the best-of-7 showdown pretty coincided with Magnolia's struggles as a team and when he was playing well, the Hotshots were rolling.

"He deserves it," head coach Chito Victolero on Barroca winning Finals MVP.

"Mark is our leader, he works hard every day.

For Barroca, the Finals MVP is just the icing on the cake, with the championship being the cake of course.

This particular one, his 6th, is one of the best ones.

"Wala na sa isip ko ang mag-MVP. Nasa isip ko lang manalo. Finals MVP. Nabigyan pa ako, mas happy pa ako," he said.

Pasalamat kami doon. So far, rest muna. Stay hungry and stay humble.
