The crown jewel is back.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal --- The crown jewel has returned.
Magnolia ended a four-year title drought in the PBA Wednesday, beating Alaska in Game 6, 102-86, for the 2018 Governors' Cup at the Ynares Center here.
The Hotshots took the series, 4-2, and won their first championship since their magical Grand Slam season in 2014.
Magnolia wasted little time establishing its dominance in Game 6, opening with a 12-0 blast behind import Romeo Travis.
Alaska would recover in the middle of the second quarter but the Hotshots would pullaway again, taking an 18-point lead at the break.
The Aces never truly threatened after that.
"I think yung start ng laro na to, hindi lang today nag-start yun eh, nag-start na yung sa preparetion namin the last four days," head coach Chito Victolero said.
"Nakita ko talaga sa players ko na they want this game, they want the championship," he added.
Import Romeo Travis was a man on a mission for the Hotshots, finishing with a game-high 32 points to go along with 17 rebounds and six assists.
Travis also shot six three pointers as he helped set the tone for Magnolia.
Ian Sangalang and Paul Lee added 16 each for the Hotshots while Finals MVP Mark Barroca dropped 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Alaska tried to stage one final rally in the fourth but Magnolia's imposing 20-point lead was simply too much to overcome.
Best Import Mike Harris led the Aces with 26 points while Chris Banchero added another 20.
Alaska lost its fifth Finals since 2015.
