It's been a blessed 2018 for Paul Lee.
Two years since that one particular blockbuster trade, Paul Lee can finally say he won.
With Magnolia's Game 6 victory over Alaska to claim the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup, Lee has delivered a championship to the Purefoods franchise.
A conference removed from his second title with Rain or Shine in 2016, Lee was part of a big trade that also involved James Yap.
Two years later, Lee beat Yap for a first title in his new team.
"Mabigat yun, yun yung unang tinitignan ever since na-trade ako for kuya James," Lee said.
"Yun yun tinitignan ng tao na kung makakapa-champion ako sa franchise ng Purefoods. Yun, nakuha na namin. Lahat naman yun, tulung-tulong," he added.
After his first season with Magnolia ended with three semifinal appearances, Lee's second year had two Finals stints.
After dropping the first one to San Miguel in the Philippine Cup, Lee's Hotshots finally got one over in the Governors' Cup, the team's first title since the 2014 Grand Slam season.
On top of that, Lee bagged his first Best Player of the Conference award and saw the birth of his first-born child.
"Start ng year, nag-Finals kami. Tapos nanalo ako ng BPC at nung championship. Napakagandang year," he said.
"Masaya talaga yung year na ito. I'm very happy. Sana huwag matapos yung blessing. So, I'm just very happy right now. Wala na kong mahihingi pang iba. Wala kong masabi. Talagang sobrang na-bless ako this year." Lee added.
