PBA: Winning solves everything as SMB deals with Romeo
“Everyone naman has attitude but I think it will depend on the environment. With an enviroment like this, he has to adapt. Wala pa naman siyang maipagma-malaki dito,” head coach Leo Austria said on his new star guard.

San Miguel is used to all the drama.

Remember the whole Petronovela thing? Head coach Leo Austria sure does. And while that episode was a trying one for the franchise, the team eventually moved past it to establish a dynasty that’s yet to be fully toppled.

That’s why as the Beermen add Terrence Romeo and his supposedly problematic attitude ahead of the 2019 PBA Season, Austria is hardly worried about the integration that’s about to take place.

Winning solves everything after all, and San Miguel plans to do a lot of winning with a reloaded lineup.

“Everyone naman has attitude but I think it will depend on the environment. With an enviroment like this, he has to adapt,” head coach Leo Austria said on his new star guard.

“Wala pa naman siyang maipagma-malaki dito. And we talked about it, although he has a lot of achievements individually, as a team wala pa siyang championship and that’s the first thing he wants to have. He wants a championship,” he added.

With Romeo expected to fit in, Austria just wants his new guard to play his usual game but with a slight twist.

Known to command the ball, Terrence will have to learn to share the rock with his six other co-stars in San Miguel. With a lot of larger-than-life personalities in the Beermen, that’s another thing to adjust for Romeo.

Austria is confident his new weapon will manage.

“Ever since naman, since Petron ito may novela na, maraming issues about the team,” Austria said.

“But still, magka-kasama pa rin sila. The last four years namins, winning championships, ups and down, nagma-mature ang mga players. After all, they are professional, they should exercise that kind of attitude dahil this is not your team, this is our team,” he added.

Romeo is expectedd to report to his very first official San Miguel practice o January 3, 10 days before the PBA’s 44th season starts.
