PBA: Al-Hussaini will face consequences from Blackwater
The coaching staff understands that Al-Hussaini will have to fix his problems first but that certainly doesn’t exempt him from fulfilling his team duties as well.

Blackwater head coach Bong Ramos has shed some light on the latest issue surrounding big man Rabeh Al-Hussaini.

Al-Hussaini has reportedly gone AWOL on the Elite and while it’s true that he hasn’t been seen for quite some time but he did talk to Ramos about dealing with some sort of personal problem.

“Actually ang huling usap ko kay Rabeh talaga last December pa. He came to practice, meron lang siya sinabi samin na [problem],” Ramos said Saturday.

“But this is a personal problem no, I cannot say what it is. Kung ano man yan, I have to respect that,” he added.

The coaching staff understands that Al-Hussaini will have to fix his problems first but that certainly doesn’t exempt him from fulfilling his team duties as well.

If a player decides to just not show up, the team naturally has to take action.

“Ang sakin lang as a player, kailangan ihiwalay natin yung trabaho natin sa problema kahit gaano ka-personal yan,” Ramos said.

“Unahin ko muna yung practice ko tapos punta ako sa kung anong dapat kong ayusin,” he added.

On the reports that Al-Hussaini has asked for a buyout, Ramos offered no comment, saying that’s between Rabeh and the Blackwater bosses.

“Hindi ko na alam yun kasi hindi ko na kontrolado yun eh,” Ramos said.

“Hanggang dito lang ako, that’s between him and the management,” he added.

Meanwhile, team manager Joel Co says that Blackwater has implemented team policies but moving forward, they will let their embattled big man sort out his issues.

However, Al-Hussaini is set to face some consequences which Rabeh is aware of obviously.

“Ang PBA as much as possible, sinabi nila na team policy muna masusunod [and] yun ang pinairal natin,” Co said.

“Ngayon moving forward, yung sinabi samin na ayusin problema niya, nilinaw naman ni coach na nagpa-alam nga pero it doesn’t mean that there wouldn’t be any consequences, which is kami ni coach magse-seek kami ng advice sa higher management,” he added.
