PBA: Returning Adducul crucial to Blackwater’s development
Head coach Bong Ramos says that Adducul’s role is quite crucial for Blackwater and the team looks to make up from the departure of JP Erram via trade.

Rommel Adducul is back in the PBA and this time, it’s his job to whip the Blackwater big men into shape as the Elite prepare for a new season.

Adducul officially joined the team late in December and is already working with the Elite’s frontline.

Head coach Bong Ramos says that Adducul’s role is quite crucial for Blackwater and the team looks to make up from the departure of JP Erram via trade.

“Kailangan ko siya lalo na wala ako masyadong big man. Maganda tinuturo niya, tugma dun sa sistemang ginagawa ko,” Ramos said of Adducul.

“Kaya ko nga siya nun kinausap eh, ni-recommend ko na kay team manager and sa management and sinuportahan naman ako,” he added.

Adducul, who now works with guys like Mac Belo, Raymar Jose, and rookie Abu Tratter, is pleased with what he sees so far, saying the the Elite pick up things quite well.

However, as Blackwater prepares to face some imposing frontlines in the PBA, Adducul wants his guys to work on a number of things.

“Kailangan magkaroon pa sila ng matinding effort,” he said.

“At the same time, yung outside shooting. Sa PBA ngayon kailangan na ng outside shooting, mga big man ngayon tumitira na sa labas eh,” Adducul added.

Adducul played in the PBA from 2003 to 2013, winning two championshops with Ginebra and another one with Purefoods.

He’s a current assistant to Topex Robinson at Lyceum and was a former assistant with Globalport following his retirement from the PBA.
