The heady point guard calls it a career after six years in the PBA.
Chris Tiu appears to have announced his retirement from professional basketball after six years in the PBA via a Twitter post.
My heartfelt gratitude to every person who has been part of my basketball journey!! Most especially to our Lord who makes all things possible 🙏 It’s now time to move on. My heart is full. #17 signing off... pic.twitter.com/BeuGJKObXz— Chris Tiu (@chris_tiu) January 8, 2019
Talks about his impending retirement were already rife when the Rain or Shine point guard dropped a career-high 30 points against NLEX last November in what would eventually be his final PBA game.
The 33-year-old Tiu will hang up his sneakers as a PBA champion after winning the Commissioner's Cup with the Elastopainters in 2016. He was also a member of the All-Rookie Team and a three-point champion in the pros.
Tiu was drafted by Rain or Shine as the 7th overall pick in the 2012 PBA Draft as the steady Ateneo de Manila playmaker who steered the Blue Eagles to a UAAP championship in 2008.
