PBA: Calvin the wildcard delivers in the clutch
Calvin scored the first and last baskets of overtime and his final shot with four seconds to go off a putback allowed the Pulse Fuel Masters to escape with a wild 93-92 win over the Bolts.

Calvin Abueva remains as one of the best wildcards in the PBA.

The Beast played a terrible game Wednesday for 48 minutes, missing all of his shots from the field.

His five points came from the free throw line and he didn’t even shoot well from there as well.

Fortunately for him, Phoenix and Meralco had an extra five minutes and that’s when the Beast did his thing.

Calvin scored the first and last baskets of overtime and his final shot with four seconds to go off a putback allowed the Pulse Fuel Masters to escape with a wild 93-92 win over the Bolts.

“Di ko rin alam eh,” Abueva said on his game-winning shot.

“Bad game, bad start ako. Pero yung last shot siguro yung swerte ko,” he added.

Despite having a rough outing, Calvin says he just persisted and still tried to do the other stuff on the court, just like he usually does.

In the end, he had a few bounces go his way and they won and that was all there is to it.

“Ginagawa ko pa rin yung mga dapat ko gawin, kung ano mai-tulong ko sa team,” he said.

“Rebounds, depensa, nandoon eh. Sa field goals ko, malas ako. Overtime lang ako naka-score, parang lumakas na ang loob ko. Yung mga nagawa ko, offensive rebounds, naka-tulong yun sa akin,” Abueva added.
