The KaTropa finally snapped a nine-game slide at the hands of the Beermen, scoring a convincing 104-93 win Sunday in the Philippine Cup.
TNT has lost so many consecutive games to San Miguel Beer that Jayson Castro forgot about the last time they beat the Beermen.
Well for the benefit of the Blur, and everyone paying attention, the last time TNT beat San Miguel was in Game 4 of the Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
It’s 2019 now.
Fortunately, the KaTropa finally snapped a nine-game slide at the hands of the Beermen, scoring a convincing 104-93 win Sunday in the Philippine Cup.
Castro says its a much-needed shot in the arm for the KaTropa to beat the reigning four-time champions of the All-Filipino.
“Di ko na maalala kasi lagi kaming natatalo sa kanila so maganda yun para samin tyaka yung confidence ng team even mga losses namin nakikita namin may mga posititves so dun kami tumitingin sa mga positive,” Castro said as TNT has recovered from a 0-2 start to sit in the middle of the pack with a .500 record.
“Siguro confidence namin yun nakapag-dala samin sa panalo,” he added.
Now winners of two straight, Castro says TNT is getting more comfortable with Mark Dickel running the show.
As the KaTropa gets deeper into the Philippine Cup, the confidence in their new system only rises and they’re looking to pile up more wins down the stretch.
“Yun ang pina-practice namin almost everyday, yung offense namin which is parang equal opportunity sa lahat kung sino open talaga walang designated sino titira,” Castro said.
“Kung kanino mapunta talagang titira with confidence at the same time yung defense namin naging effective talaga. Magandang senyales to samin kasi nakikita na namin gusto naming mangyari,” he added.
