PBA: #VonFire means absolutely nothing in bad SMB loss
The Beermen have incredible star power at the guard spots and Pessumal coming out of nowhere to replace the spots of the injured Alex Cabagnot and Terrence Romeo is a nice surprise to San Miguel in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.

In a team as loaded as San Miguel, the player you’d least expect to stand out will be Von Pessumal.

The Beermen have incredible star power at the guard spots and Pessumal coming out of nowhere to replace the spots of the injured Alex Cabagnot and Terrence Romeo is a nice surprise to San Miguel in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.

Sunday was proof as Pessumal was on fire from deep, drilling six three-pointers on his way 23 points, his career-high.

However, that literally means nothing as the Beermen took a beating at the hands of TNT KaTropa.

Von’s career-high didn’t matter and he’ll be the first one to tell you that.

“I’d rather have zero and get the win,” he said.

“Wala, ganun talaga. Bounce back na lang kami,” Von added.

With such a strong set of teammates, Pessumall says it’s easy for him to get hot as opponents tend to overlook him on offense.

The second-year sniper also added that familiriaty has helped him pick his spots on the Beermen.

“I’m more than a year na with the team, so I know where to go. I know when to shoot, not to shoot,” Pessumal said.

“My job is easy eh, catch and shoot lang,” he added.
