PBA: Blackwater on the board after dominating ROS
Blackwater dropped 37 points in the third period to take over the game and put the finishing touches in the fourth to improve to 1-2 for the season, stopping Rain or Shine’s streak at two games.

After two uninspiring games, Blackwater has bounced back to pick up its first win of the year.

The Elite used a strong second half to beat the previously-undefeated Elasto Painters of Rain or Shine, picking up a 111-99 decision Wednesday in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Blackwater dropped 37 points in the third period to take over the game and put the finishing touches in the fourth to improve to 1-2 for the season, stopping Rain or Shine’s streak at two games.

ROS dropped to 2-1 with the loss.

Down seven at the break, Blackwater turned to Mike Digregorio and Allein Maliksi for firepower in the second half.

The pair combined for 34 points in the third and fourth quarters as the Elite pulled away from ROS. Blackwater led by as many as 18 in the fourth before settling for a 12-point victory.

Digregorio led all scorers woth 27 points, shooting 7/10 from three-point range. Maliksi added 23.

Chris Javier was a nice surprise for the Elite, playing 30 minutes for 16 points while rookie Abu Tratter had another solid outing, posting 12 points and eight rebounds.

For ROS, James Yap led the way with 20 markers but was limited to only five in the second half.
