PBA: Elite shooter re-energized by former MVP Adornado
“He was a shooter, I’m a shooter, he instills a lot of advice in me. After practice and during practice, he has little pointers, and he he obviously has a lot of confidence in me,” Mike Digregorio said on former PBA MVP Bogs Adornado.

Blackwater’s moves include not only dealing with actual players, but the Elite are also working on building a strong coaching staff.

The Ever Bilena franchise added Rommel Adducul previously to serve as their big man coach and now, the Elite brought in Bogs Adornado to the fold.

Yes, PBA legend Bogs Adornado, the league’s first-ever Most Valuable Player, is now with Blackwater as the team’s shooting coach.

Elite shooters couldn’t be happier.

“Yeah he’s great, I have a lot of respect for him, you always have to have respect for guys that paved the way for you,” lead guard Mike Digregorio said.

“He’s done a lot, he’s no slouch,” he added.

As a coach specialized on the team’s shooting, Adornado says his focus on the Elite players is to have them consistent night in and night out.

All of them have shooting mechanics down pat, that’s why they’re in the PBA. It’s a matter of producing results.

“They know the fundamental of shooting, but I said they have to be consistent. It's sad to say but most of the PBA players now are very inconsistent. I don't know if you agree with me as the way you look at it. Scoring-wise, defense-wise. That's why most of the teams are on and off because of lack of consistency. If you're a good player, you have to be consistent the entire season,” he said.

“You have to be consistent. Yun ang hinahabol ko eh,” he added,’ .

Players like Digregorio have accepted Adornado with open arms.

More than Adornado’s resume, it’s his actual work with the Blackwater players and his confidence in them that’s getting through.

“He was a shooter, I’m a shooter, he instills a lot of advice in me. After practice and during practice, he has little pointers, and he he obviouslt has a lot of confidence in me,” Digregorio said.

“Everytime we talk he always says, ‘keep going, show more.’ It’s great to have someone that has confidence in you, he’s such a positive reinforcement for us as a team,” he added.
