“Sarap ng may apo, pare.” — Phoenix head coach Louie Alas.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — Phoenix has extended its unbeaten run in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup to four games after destroying Blackwater Friday at the Ynares Center here.
It’s the best start in team history.
Head coach Louie Alas already has his sights set on the next one, barely celebrating this achievement.
“Looking for 5th [win], hopefully against NLEX,” he said.
“We just have to keep working. 4-0, sabi ko nga, it’s not how you start [but how you finish]. Kailangan namin ma-sustain yan,” he added.
It was a long day Friday for coach Louie as he welcomed his first grandchild at around 2 in the morning.
The family of coach Louie’s oldest son had a healthy baby girl named Kamy, making the Phoenix mentor a proud lolo.
This is the achievement he’ll celebrate more.
“Kaninang madaling araw lang, first girl,” coach Alas said.
“Sarap ng may apo, pare. Tuloy kami ngayon ng wife ko sa hospital,” he added.
