PBA: Ginebra overpowers upstart Columbian

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — Brgy. Ginebra is finally back on track.
The Gin Kings dominated an upstart Columbian team Saturday at the Ynares Center here, taking a much-needed 97-85 win in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.
Ginebra is up to 2-2 for the season, recovering from back-to-back losses to San Miguel and Rain or Shine.
The Gin Kings were never really in trouble with the Dyip and they slowly pulled away as the game went on.
While Ginebra settled for a 12-point decision, the Gin Kings led by as many as 20 points late in the fourth, 97-77.
Greg Slaughter imposed his will down low, going for 22 points and 12 rebounds for Ginebra.
Joe Devance added 15 while Kevin Ferrer was good for 13 points.
No. 1 pick CJ Perez led all scorers with 25 points and Jackson Corpuz finished with 20.
Unfortunately, that was not enough as Columbian dropped to 2-3.

Quarters: 27-24, 55-44, 76-59, 97-85.
