Alas, who first injured his right knee in Game 5 of the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, went down again last Feb. 2 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, the same site of his initial ACL tear.

“It’s the same injury. We are all saddened, we are all devastated by what happened,” head coach Yeng Guiao said on Alas after the ACL tear was confirmed.

“We are all praying for Kevin and we are supporting him all the way,” he added.

Before suffering a second torn ACL in his right knee, Alas spent the better part of 2018 trying to recover from the initia injury.

He was five games into his comeback before fate decided it was not meant to be... for now.
