The reigning four-time PBA Philippine Cup Champions finally scored their first signature win of 2019, picking up a rather convincing 113-92 win over Magnolia Sunday at the Big Dome.

Coming in hot right from the start, the rematch of the 2018 Finals was barely close and the Beermen won back-to-back games for the first tiime this season.

San Miguel improved to 4-3 with the 21-point demolition job and dropped the Hotshots to 0-2.

“I think our last game against Blackwater gave us some momentum going to this game. And then, wala akong masabi sa mga players ko,” head coach Leo Austria said.

“They were so focused, and maybe they know what's the importance of this game. Because, Magnolia is really a tough team. But most of the players really prepared for this game,” he added.
