The Fast gets a triple-double in a Manila Clasico win for Ginebra.
The Fast hasn’t lost a step.
Jayjay Helterbrand led Ginebra to yet another Manila Clasico win as the Gin Kings got one over Purefoods Sunday, 97-89, in the PBA Legends Return of the Rivals game at the Big Dome.
Helterbrand, who retired in 2017, messed around and finished with a triple-double, going for 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. The Fast also had four steals for good measure.
Tied after two quarters, the Gin Kings smoked Purefoods in the third quarter, dropping 39 points to break the game wide open.
The Prince Vince Hizon found his touch to start the second half, leading the Ginebra offense.
Hizon finished with 19 points just behind Helterbrand. Also scoring in double figures for the barangay were Marlou Aquino (15 points), Noli Locsin (14 points), and Bal David (12 points).
“Maganda, alam mo kung bakit? Nanalo,” the Living Legend Robert Jaworski said.
“Magand yung layunin, they got to do their best to make it happen. If there's help, use the help for those that really need it,” he added.
For Purefoods, Roger Yap led the team with 27 points.
