Allein Maliksi scored a game-high 29 points as Blackwater finally put its losing skid behind them.
Blackwater finally won again.
The Elite dropped Columbian Friday in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup, scoring a much-needed 106-100 decision at the MOA Arena.
Blackwater arrested a four-game slide and improved to 2-6, barely keeping its playoff hopes alive in the All-Filipino.
Using a strong start, Blackwater maintained control for almost the whole game, keeping the Dyip at bay.
However, Columbian would threaten for the last time in the last 36 seconds, cutting the deficit to two following a Glenn Khobuntin layup.
Blackwater would get a lucky break with a Dyip turnover and the Elite sealed the win from the foul stripe.
"At least we know how to finish the game already, we were able to finish the game strong," head coach Bong Ramos said.
"Natuwa ako sa mga players dahil they really want to win today. I'm happy to get this win," he added.
Allein Maliksi led all scorers with 29 points on top of six rebounds and five assists for Blackwater. Mac Belo also had a good game with 22 points.
Rashawn McCarthy led the Dyip with 18 points but it wasn’t enough for a winning streak on the parto of Columbian. They dropped to 3-5 with the loss.
