TNT’s 26-0 run in the fourth period against the Blackwater Elite is the most by any team in PBA history to start any quarter.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — TNT’s out there setting records.
In the KaTropa’s masterful win over Blackwater Saturday at the Ynares Center here, they started the fourth quarter with an incredible 26-0 run to take a commanding 116-72 lead.
That’s the record for most unanswered points to start a quarter ever in PBA history.
In that huge run, RR Pogoy scored 12 points including 10 straight. Jericho Cruz also contributed heavily, scoring eight of his 11 fourth-quarter points.
TNT’s run in the fourth actually started in the third as they turned an 85-72 lead into that 44-point cushion. The KaTropa’s 31-0 run is the second-most in history.
Ginebra holds the record for most unanswered points in PBA history. The Gin Kings scored 32 straight against Shell in the fourth quarter of Game 5 of the 1991 First Conference Finals.
