PBA: Rain or Shine activates playoff mode
At 8-3, the Elasto Painters have an inside track to a top-2 finish and a twice-to-beat advantage.

The last time Rain or Shine entered a long break, they had a five-game winning streak.

When they returned, they ended up losing back-to-back.

ROS is about to enter an even longer break as the Elasto Painters have almost three weeks before they start the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals.

In order to avoid getting rusty for the games that actually count, the Elasto Painters are activating playoff mode rather early.

“Siguro experience na namin yun,” veteran guard James Yap said on how Rain or Shine will deal with a second long break in the All-Filipino.

“Hindi na mauulit yun, every practice kailangan focused na. Ibang usapan na to eh, nasa playoffs na,” he added.

In the meantime, ROS needs to find out first what kind of series it deals with in the playoffs.

At 8-3, the Elasto Painters have an inside track to a top-2 finish and a twice-to-beat advantage.

However, there’s more than a couple of tems that still have a shot of pushing Rain or Shine outside the top-2.

“Syempre coming into this game may chance kami sa top-2, so all out lahat,” Yap said as ROS survived Meralco Friday to enter the playoffs on a winning note.

“Buti nakuha namin yung game, muntikan pa. Depende pa yung twice-to-beat advantage pero syempre ready kami. Sa tagal ng pahinga, crucial samin to kung paano kami papa-kundisyon, para hindi mangalawang,” he added.
