PBA: ROS makes final case for top-2 finish
Losers of two straight, the 7-3 Elasto Painters are now in actual danger of falling outside the top-2 and missing out on a playoff bonus.

The race for the top-2 spots in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup is getting crowded.

No. 2 Rain or Shine, who’s been on top since the beginning of the season, ends its elimination round schedule Friday at the Cuneta Astrodome against the Meralco Bolts.

Losers of two straight, the 7-3 Elasto Painters are now in actual danger of falling outside the top-2 and missing out on a playoff bonus.

Still, ROS can make a strong case provided it makes to eight wins, which would have the team a half game back of idle Phoenix for first place.

The Elasto Painters hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Fuel Masters.

Meanwhile, the Bolts are trying to sneak into the playoff picture. Meralco’s current 3-5 mark is just outside the top-8.

Tip off will be at 7:00 p.m. right after the 4:30 p.m. showdown between TNT (5-3) and Alaska (3-4).

The KaTropa are in fourth and are coming in strong with a three-game winning streak. The Aces are on a two-game slide an are fresh from a beating suffered at the hands of NLEX just last Wednesday.
