PBA: Ginebra has eyes on top-2 finish as it battles NLEX
A win by Ginebra (5-3) means that the Gin Kings can still go for a top-2 spot in the All-Filipino, something Rain or Shine (8-3) and TNT (7-3) will certainly not appreciate.

Playoff spots are getting filled in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup but while that’s nice and all, playoff positioning is the second thing that’s going to be decided next.

It’s also the more important thing to decide.

The no. 1 spot is the only spot secured as of the moment as Phoenix took care of the top seed last week.

Saturday in Pampanga, the rest of the bracket will start taking shape as Brgy. Ginebra takes on NLEX.

A win by Ginebra (5-3) means that the Gin Kings can still go for a top-2 spot in the All-Filipino, something Rain or Shine (8-3) and TNT (7-3) will certainly not appreciate.

A loss by the barangay means that the twice-to-beat advantages come the quarterfinals will be decided by TNT’s last game against Northport.

Meanwhile, NLEX (4-5) is trying to make sure it actually stays in the playoff race. More importantly, the no. 6 seed is still in the radar of the Road Warriors if they win.

Getting to no. 6 gets you in best-of-3 series and out of a handicap in the first round.

An NLEX loss will open things up for a number of teams below including Alaska, Columbian, Meralco, and Northport.

Tip off for Ginebra-NLEX will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday live from the AUF Sports Arena in Angeles, Pampanga.
