Top-2 is still good for Brgy. Ginebra.

The Gin Kings managed to fight off a red-hot NLEX team Saturday in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup, taking a nice 105-96 win at the AUF Sports Arena in Angeles, Pampanga.

After giving up 30 points to the Road Warriors in the opening period, Ginebra slowly went about its game, eventually pulling away late in the fourth for a third straight victory in the All-Filipino.

The Gin Kings are now at 6-3 as they look to challenge for the no. 2 seed and the twice-to-beat advantage that comes along with it in the quarterfinals.

Five Ginebra players finished in double figures led by 27 from Japeth Aguilar while Iron Man LA Tenorio was good for 17 points.

Greg Slaughter, Scottie Thompson, and Kevin Ferrer all scored 14 each for the Gin Kings.

NLEX connected on 18 triples for the game and led by as many as 18 points.

However, the Road Warriors ran out in the end and dropped to 4-6 with the loss. JP Erram paced the NLEX offense with 16 points.
