PBA: Ginebra targets 3rd seed as PHL Cup nears playoffs
Ginebra is currently at third place and the Gin Kings do have the inside track at keeping the no. 3 seed.

Despite being eliminated from top-2 contention, Brgy. Ginebra still has a lot to fight for as the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup goes to the penultimate gameday of its elimination round.

Already assured of a top-6 finish, the Gin Kings (6-3) now battle for position that will help determine their first-round opponent in the All-Filipino playoffs.

Ginebra is currently at third place and the Gin Kings do have the inside track at keeping the no. 3 seed.

If the rankings hold through next week, Ginebra draws Magnolia for a Manila Clasico quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, standing in the way of Ginebra's quest for the third spot is another fierce rival in the Meralco Bolts.

Meralco is holding on for dear life at 3-7 and while geting to four wins guarantee nothing, that at least gives the Bolts an actual shot to advance. Tip off for Ginebra-Meralco will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday live from the Big Dome.

In the first game at 4:30 p.m., Alaska (4-6) and Northport (3-6) figure in another crucial game to help decide the lower seeds in the playoffs.

The Aces still somehow maintain 8th place while the Batang Pier have been revived and they look to climb up from 10th place.
