Arwind’s signature dunk is still banned. (PBA)
Arwind Santos’ signature Spider-Man dunk has been banned by the PBA.
And while Arwind showed minor resistance when the ban was still fresh, he never actually made an attempt to the dunk during an actual game in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.
Because you see, for all of Arwind’s shenanigans, he actually abides by the rules.
However, for the 2019 PBA All-Star Game in Calasiao, Pangasinan, Santos found a way to do a couple of Spider-Man dunks because well... for the fans right?
Also, because it was Arwind, he just had to.
“Di ko pinaalam, di naman nila ako winarningan,” Santos said.
“Wala naman akong memo na bawal yun at mapa-fine ako dito kaya ginawa ko,” he added.
After getting away with a couple dunks in the All-Star Game, Santos feels like he somehow found a loophole in the Commissioner’s ruling.
Kaya pag nag-dunk ako sa PBA, sa All-Filipino, sabihin ko na lang, ‘Ay akala ko All-Star nakalimutan ko, sorry,’” Arwind playfully said.
“Para di nila ako i-technical,” he added.
Regardless if it was a joke though, Commissioner Willie is having none of it.
It was allowed for the 2019 PBA All-Star Game, so maybe in 2020 again?
