Bolick makes up for money ball miss with clutch hit vs. GIN
Bolick’s final triple for Northport allowed the Batang Pier to escape Ginebra in a thriller and now, they’re in the playoffs outright as a no. 7 seed.

In Calasiao for the 2019 PBA All-Star Game, Robert Bolick missed his final money ball that would have allowed him to be the league’s 3-point king.

That was last Friday.

Wednesday back in Manila for the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup, Bolick drilled his final triple and this time, it has more meaning.

Bolick’s final triple for Northport allowed the Batang Pier to escape Ginebra in a thriller and now, they’re in the playoffs outright as a no. 7 seed.

That’s not quite bad.

“Na-shoot eh,” Bolick said of his clutch hit.

“Kumpiyansa lang. Tinira ko lang kasi sa 3-point contest, na-miss ko yung last shot eh. At least nakabawi naman ako ngayon,” he added.

Northport was left for dead after a six-game losing skid in the elimination round.

Somehow, the Batang Pier found a way to win three straight to make the playoffs outright. A final win against Ginebra is just what the doctor ordered for Northport to enter the quarterfinals with some much-needed confidence.

Northport is faced with a knockout situation right away against no. 2 Rain or Shine.

“Di namin binaba yung ulo namin,” Bolick said as they endured a long drought.

“We just played one game at a time tapos ngayon naging ganito kami, 5-6. Pagdating ng playoffs, bibigay lang namin yung best namin,” he added.
