PBA: Champion Beermen go for the kill vs. TNT
The Beermen needed a late push to beat rival TNT in Game 1 of their short best-of-3 series, scoring a close 80-78 win.

Despite scoring constrasting wins in their respective series openers, the fact remains that Barangay Ginebra and four-time defending champion San Miguel Beer are just one victory away from making a return trip to the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.

The Beermen needed a late push to beat rival TNT in Game 1 of their short best-of-3 series, scoring a close 80-78 win.

June Mar Fajardo came through in the clutch for the champs and despite struggling for pretty much the whole game against the stingy TNT defense, San Miguel is on the verge of making it to the next round of the All-Filipino.

Meanwhile, the Gin Kings once again extended their master over Magnolia in Manila Clasico, using a masterful performance for an 86-75 win.

Another win for the barangay and they avenge their previous Manila Clasico series loss just last conference.

Naturally, Magnolia and TNT will look to force a deciding Game 3. The Hotshots will be up first as they take on Ginebra Monday at the Big Dome ona n 4:30 p.m. start. The KaTropa will come next as they’re scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. clash against the Beermen.
