For seven long years now, TNT has been under San Miguel's spell

San Miguel has had Jayson Castro and TNT's number in the playoffs since 2012.
The last time TNT bested San Miguel in a playoff series, the two teams had different names.
Back in the 2012 PBA Philippine Cup, Talk n Text edged out Petron Blaze in a seven-game semifinals series.
Since then, the flagship franchise of the MVP group has not had success in any series opposite the flagship franchise of the San Miguel group.
San Miguel triumphed over TNT in the 2015 Philippine Cup semifinals, the 2017 Philippine Cup semifinals, the 2017 Commissioners' Cup Finals, the 2018 Philippine Cup quarterfinals, the 2018 Commissioners' Cup quarterfinals, and now, the 2019 Philippine Cup quarterfinals.
That's six playoff series stretched out in seven long years now that the Beermen have had mastery over the KaTropa.
In the end, TNT could only point to their slow start in the decider as the reason why they remain unable to break the San Miguel curse. "Start namin, pangit. 'Di kami nakahabol dun sa umpisa na natambakan kami," Roger Pogoy said, referring to a 3-13 hole they found themselves in early on which then became a 27-53 halftime deficit.
He then continued, "Hats off to San Miguel kasi talagang nakapag-adjust sila nang husto."
Indeed, Pogoy and company gave their all last Monday just to stay alive in the series.
Unfortunately, come the do-or-die game, they had nothing to go on right from tip-off.
Still, the KaTropa have full faith that sooner than later, they will be getting the Beermen monkey off their backs. As Troy Rosario put it, "Talagang pag sila yung katapat namin, nahihirapan kami. Pero marami pa namang panahon, marami pang playoffs."
He then continued, "Siguro, hindi pa namin time ngayon."
Pogoy could only agree. "Sa tingin ko, wala naman kaming kulang. Ano lang talaga, hindi lang talaga kami makalusot," he said.
He then continued, "Ewan ko kung bakit lagi na lang nagtatapat TNT tsaka San Miguel, pero darating din yung araw na makakalusot din kami."
