Brgy. Ginebra remains as one of the most loaded teams in the PBA, the Gin Kings can overwhelm anyone at any given time.
That’s just a fact, the star power will speak for itself.
Still, one team has had Ginebra’s number for two straight conferences now.
Magnolia has eliminated the Gin Kings in back-to-back tournaments, the latest being a 2-1 win in the quarterfinals of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.
'We Believe' Magnolia is still in effect.
Lee says that the short best-of-3 series gave the Hotshots a chance of pulling off another shocker.
After losing Game 1 by 11, Magnolia recovered with a 29-point win in Game 2.
Game 3 was close at the break but the Hotshots dropped the hammer in the third. Led by Lee’s 13 points in the quarter, Magnolia turned a five-point lead into 20-point spread.
That was pretty much it.
“Maganda lang yung gameplan namin and nag-commit kami lahat dun,” Lee said.
“And good thing yung series maiksi lang, yun lang yung ano namin yung element of surprise lang. Siguro nagulat namin sila dun,” he added.
