“Naubos talaga. I admit it, naubos talaga. Parang na-drain talaga ako doon,” — Paul Lee after a Game 1 loss to Rain or Shine.
Paul Lee has been on target lately, ask Barangay Ginebra they know.
However, as the Hotshots moved to the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine, Lee looked like he simply ran out of bullets.
In Magnolia’s Game 1 loss, Lee fired blanks, shooting 5/13 from the field. He finished with 15 points still.
Late in the fourth as the Hotshots tried to stage one final comeback, Lee shot three straight triples.
He missed all of them badly.
“Naubos,” Lee said after the Game 1 loss.
“Naubos talaga. I admit it, naubos talaga. Parang na-drain talaga ako doon,” he added.
Fortunately, Magnolia has at least three more games to figure things out.
The Hotshots were also down 0-1 in last year’s semifinals against NLEX and they went on to win in six.
“Bawi na lang next game, pahinga lang,” Lee said.
“Forget the game. Kunin lang yung mga positives then yung mga negative, ma-correct lang namin. It’s a long series,” he added.
