PBA: Mocon welcomes physicality of semis: “Batang NCAA eh”
“Batang NCAA eh. Ganun sa NCAA physical talaga,” Mocon said.

Based on Game 1 alone, the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup semifinals between no. 2 Rain or Shine and no. 6 Magnolia is going to be rough.

It’s going to take a toll on both teams as the physicality is sure to rise with both teams fighting for an All-Filipino Finals slot.

That’s to be expected and everyone’s going to be ready, including Rain or Shine rookie Javee Mocon.

The former San Beda star stood out in Rain or Shine’s series-opening win, going for a strong 15-point, 10-rebound double-double.

As the Elasto Painters get down to business for the rest of the series, Mocon welcomes the physicality, saying his days as a champion Red Lion prepared him for this very opportunity.

“Batang NCAA eh. Ganun sa NCAA physical talaga,” Mocon said.

“Sa San Beda, I think dun ako nag-grow para maging ready sa playoffs sa PBA. Wala naman yun, physicality is all part of the game,” he added.

Heading to Game 2 and beyond, Mocon is ready to continue providing solid production off the bench.

Rain or Shine has its reliable veterans but they can’t play the full 48 minutes. Once they head to the bench, Mocon and the rest of the Elasto Painters’ young core will be there to step in.

“Itong starters, yung mga veterans, once na lumabas sila all-out na kami pagpasok kahit anong mangyari,” Mocon said.

“Kahit lamang kami o lamang yung kalaban, papakamatay kami sa loob ng court,” he added.
