PBA: Arwind was going for Spider-Man dunk during wild miss
“Dapat nga Spider-Man dunk ko eh pero parang ayaw ipagawa, may pumigil eh,” Santos said when asked about the missed attempt, even suggesting that there was a higher power to prevented him from doing a banned move.

Arwind Santos got the chance he craved for all tournament long.

He was all alone on the break and was ready to take off for his signature Spider-Man dunk despite the fact that the move is now banned by the PBA.

Arwind got the chance and he blew it.

In the third quarter of an eventual Game 2 semis win against Phoenix, Santos tried to go for his signature dunk.

His form was perfect and all but the only problem was the fact that Arwind didn’t get the elevation he needed.

Santos missed badly and adding insult to injury, the Fuel Masters connected on the other end for an easy four-point swing.

“Dapat nga Spider-Man dunk ko eh pero parang ayaw ipagawa, may pumigil eh,” Santos said when asked about the missed attempt, even suggesting that there was a higher power to prevented him from doing a banned move.

“Parang dumikit yung isang paa ko [sa sahig] kaya nag-alangan ako tumalon kanina. Natawa rin ako nung huli eh,” he added.

Game 2’s miss was Santos’ first attempt at a Spider-Man dunk in an official game this season.

Arwind did get a couple in Calasiao, Pangasinan for the All-Star break and he did say then that he will try to do it in an actual game.

He has his chance now and he missed. He missed it badly, even his own children were wondering what in the world happend.

But it’s all good since the Beermen won to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series against the Fuel Masters.

“Na-bad trip nga ako eh,” Santos said on his missed dunk.

“Pero wala na yun, at least nanalo kami,” he added.
