For his hit on RJ Jazul’s groin are during Game 4 of the Philippine Cup semifinals, San Miguel’s Alex Cabagnot has been fined P20,000 by the PBA Commissioner’s office.

Cabagnot’s hit to Jazul triggered a near-brawl between Phoenix and San Miguel Tuesday, with Alex Mallari pushing Cabagnot to the floor following the hit.

That then prompted Matt Ganuelas-Rosser to rush to the scene to defend his teammate.

As the dust settle on the incident, Mallari was ejected for two technical fouls while MGR was also called for a tech.

Somehow, Cabagnot escaped with no violation, until now.

The PBA has clarified Cabagnot escaping with no violations in Game 4 and the league basically said that since game officials on-ground didn’t whistle him for any violation, the non-call was not reviewable.

Aside from Cabagnot, also receiving fines were Phoenix’s Mallari (P2,600), Ron Dennison (P5,000), Jason Perkins (P1,600), and Jaypee Mendoza (P6,600).

For San Miguel, Kelly Nabong (P3,400), Arwind Santos (P1,600), and Ganuelas-Rosser (P1,600) were fined.

Game 5 of the series is on Thursday with the Beermen holding a 3-1 lead.
