PBA Finals: Hotshots brace for sure SMB comeback in Game 2
Last year, Magnolia lost four straight after Game 1 and the Hotshots can take their first step in avoiding that as they brace for a sure comeback from the Beermen in Game 2.

The 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals has mirrored the 2018 version to start with Magnolia taking a 1-0 lead against defending champion San Miguel Beer.

Now the real test starts for the Hotshots.

Last year, Magnolia lost four straight after Game 1 and the Hotshots can take their first step in avoiding that as they brace for a sure comeback from the Beermen in Game 2.

With a balanced attack led by its talented backcourt, Magnolia pulled a series-opening win Wednesday, overcoming a huge offensive night from five-time MVP June Mar Fajardo.

Guard play will remain key for the Hotshots if they look to achieve a different result in these All-Filipino Finals.

For the champion Beermen, overwhelming talent alone won’t cut it.

If San Miguel is to win a 5th straight Philippine Cup championship, that overwhelming talent will have to actually produce.

The Beermen can afford to not have everyone explode at the same time but the champs for sure can’t afford to have only June Mar doing the heavy lifting.

Game 2 tips off at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Big Dome.
