Arwind believes SMB offense impossible to totally shut down

In Game 2, San Miguel fired off 108 points in a win and the Beermen looked like they had the vaunted Magnolia defense figured out.

In Game 3 however, the Hotshots proved that’s not the case and Magnolia limited the five-time champs to just 82 points to once again take control of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals, 2-1.

After seven San Miguel players scored in double figures in Game 2, that number went down to just four in Game 3.

The Beermen’s shooting percentage dropped to the 30s again, shooting just a shade under 33 percent inthe Game 3 loss.

Still, there’s no way Magnolia can stop San Miguel’s high-powered offense all the way through. At least that’s what Arwind Santos thinks.

The pattern in these Finals have been pretty simple with a grinding defensive battle favoring Magnolia and a shootout going the way of San Miguel.

However, that alone won’t decide the Philippine Cup Finals says Arwind though he does believe that the team with the better defensive sets will have the higher chances of winning.

“Ako personally, yung depensa namin, hindi talaga masyadong maganda,” Santos said.
