The champs have more than enough time to turn things around without a hint of panic.
San Miguel is actually getting challenged in the All-Filipino Finals.
Following Sunday’s Game 3, the four-time champion Beermen now trail the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals to Magnolia, 1-2.
However, this is nothing new to San Miguel and the champs have more than enough time to turn things around without a hint of panic.
They also have more than enough experience to know that they can overcome pretty much any series deficit.
A certain “Beeracle” run always comes to mind.
“Wala yan, hindi kami kinakabahan sa ganyan,” forward Arwind Santos said as the Beermen stare at a 2-1 deficit in these Finals.
“Ita-tie lang namin yan. Sisiguraduhin namin na mananalo kami ng Game 4. Tapos best-of-three ang usapan,” he added.
Saying that you’ll tie the Finals at two game each is one thing and actually doing it is another.
To make that bold statement a reality, Santos says that the Beermen will have to address some things in the way they play on both ends.
“Maganda yung depensa nila, may adjustment sila sa offense nila na ginawa na hindi namin napaghandaan. Ganoon naman ang basketball, kailangan mo mag-imbento, kailangan mo gumawa ng bagong weapon para magamit mo sa susunod na game,” Santos said.
“Bawat game naman, kahit sabihin mong nananalo kami, mayroon pa rin kaming kailangan i-correct. Siguro yun lang. Kailangan pa rin namin pag-usapan yung mga kailangan naming gawin, mostly on defense,” he added.
