PBA Finals: Barroca was going for the win all the way
Tied at 86 all, Mark Barroca faked Christian Standhardinger in the corner and drilled a baseline jumper as time expired for the win.

Lost in the craziness that was “Spider-Man” storming the court late in Game 5 of the Philippine Cup Finals was the fact the game actually ended on an incredible game-winning shot.

Tied at 86 all, Mark Barroca faked Christian Standhardinger in the corner and drilled a baseline jumper as time expired for the win.

The shot, which gave Barroca 22 points for the game, also gave the Magnolia Hotshots a crucial 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series for the Philippine Cup title.

Magnolia is now on the verge of ending the greatest All-Filipino dynasty the league has ever seen.

“Kung mag-overtime pa yun, mahihirapan na kami,” Barroca said.

“Baka marami pang mangyari. Sabi nga namin, last shot nakuha namin, kukunin na talaga namin [yung panalo],” he added.

After getting only one win in last year’s Philippine Cup Finals, the Hotshots are now just one win away from winning the whole thing.

Barroca says that they’ve been believing each other since day 1 and that belief is what drives the team now.

“Ganun talaga eh. Powerhouse na team to eh, underdog kami lagi Going this conference namin, underdog talga kami,” he said.

“Quarterfinals, semifinals. Kami lang talga sa grupo namin naniniwala kami, basta naniwala kami maraming nangyayari. Kaya nga battle cry namin, We Believe eh,” he added.
