Terrence Romeo is one win away from winning his first PBA title.
Say what you will about Terrence Romeo but the super scorer now has a golden opportunity in his hands.
Romeo can win his very first PBA championship as he plays his very first Game 7 with defending champion San Miguel Beer taking on Magnolia in the decisive showdown of the 2019 Philippine Cup Finals.
Terrence’s road has been rocky even in these Finals.
But after a Game 2 ejection, Romeo has turned things around and has helped the Beermen hold off a dynasty collapse and force a Game 7 for the title.
He’s ready to fight for that championship.
“Sobrang motivated ko kasi para sa family ko to,” Romeo said ahead of Game 7.
“Hindi ko lang laban to, laban ng San Miguel to,” he added.
True enough, the larger story is San Miguel going for a historic fifth straight All-Filipino title.
Romeo was brought in to help make that a reality and the Finals rookie is feeling the weight of this series already. Terrence is feeling the pressure but he’s also up for the challenge.
“Grabe oo, nararamdaman namin actually [history]. Hindi ko alam kung paano namin paghahandaan,” he said.
“Pero pag nandoon na kami sa point na yun, wake up call nagigising kami. Napaka-gandang challenge para sa amin,” he added.
Being in Game 7 and having the chance to win a title naturally gets Terrence excited but he’s trying to calm himself down.
He still has to perform after all.
“Excited pero syempre di naman pwedeng sobrang excited to the point na di na ako makatulog or what,” Romeo said.
