Collin Sexton is in Manila this week for the Jr. NBA Philippines program but before he imparts some knowledge to some young ballers, the rookie guard of the Cleveland Cavaliers had some time to catch some local hoops action.

Sexton was on deck Wednesday at the Big Dome to witness Game 7 of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals between San Miguel Beer and Magnolia.

The Young Bull witnessed a classic as the Beermen completed a historic All-Filipino 5-peat by surviving the Hotshots in a thriller, 72-71.

"It was great, they were battling from start to finish," Sexton said of Game 7.

"The game, it had high energy from the fans to the players to the coaches, I caught a great game," he added.

Asked if there was someone that caught his eye, Sexton immediately pointed to "the big guy."

"The big guy" is June Mar Fajardo of course, who set a PBA local record of 31 rebounds against the Hotshots Wednesday. The five-time MVP broke the league's longest-standing individual record in Game 7 as the previous high for rebounds was 29 set in 1975, the PBA's first year.

"No. 15 yeah. The big guy, I think he had like 31 rebounds. He's a monster down there," Sexton said.

The Cleveland Cavalier also took note of Magnolia's backcourt that lead the vaunted Hotshots defense. He says Magnolia's collection of guards remind him of himself.

"On the other side, they had a lot of great little scrapy guards that were playing pretty good on defense and also scoring the ball," Sexton said.

"When you're doing it in both ends, it just reminds me of how I play," he added.
