“Samahang walang katulad” indeed for the San Miguel Beermen.
Prior to the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals, the latest San Miguel Beer dynasty already won six titles.
The Beermen already know the incredible high of winning the championship and all the celebration that comes along with it.
And so as San Miguel successfully defended the All-Filipino title for a record fifth straight time Wednesday with a Game 7 win over Magnolia, the veteran Beermen made sure to do something a little special for their teammates that are celebrating their first championship.
Christian Standhardinger and Terrence Romeo, both first-time PBA champions, did the honor of cutting the nets at the Big Dome after San Miguel took Game 7, 72-71.
Both nets were already reserved for the two in advance if the Beermen were to win the title.
It was a great gesture for the team veterans to allow their new key players to to experience such feeling.
Now they know how awesome it is and hopefully, they’ll strive to get that feeling again.
As for the main San Miguel core, they have accomplished something literally no one has ever done before.
“Iba yung 5-peat talaga.
