PBA: TNT’s new Terrence dominant in rousing debut

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — Rousing PBA debut for former Houston Rocket Terrence Jones.
Jones was dominant to start the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup, leading TNT to a strong opening win against NLEX Wednesday at the Ynares Center here, 102-87.
The KaTropa’s new Terrence finished with 41 points and 14 rebounds and TNT is on the board early in the mid-season joust.
TNT was actually slow to start but the KaTropa picked things up in the second period behing Jones who outscored NLEX by himself in the quarter, 19-16.
Jones added another 18 points in the second half and TNT led by as many as 25 before settling for a nice 15-point win.
After Jones, Anthony Semerad and Kelly Williams finished in double figures for the KaTropa with 11 and 10 points respectively. Jayson Castro added nine points and five assists.
On the part of the Road Warriors, import Curtis Washington led the way with 18 points and 16 rebounds. JP Erram and Kenneth Ighalo were the top locals for NLEX with 14 points apiece.
